Summer's Most Buzzworthy Home Decor Trend?

Fringe - the boho-inspired fashion trend beloved by the music festival crowd is now poised to become one of the hottest home decor trends of the summer. This quirky style has been on the rise ever since it hit the fashion runways in Paris and New York for the Fall 2018 shows.

But, here's the thing: you don't have to be a slave to fashion or even nostalgic for the design vibes of the 70s to be on board with fringe at home. There are plenty of easy ways to elevate this look and make it more current than ever, from one-of-a-kind lamps to textured pillows and throws. Take a look!

In Your Bedroom

We love this decorative blanket, which adds an elegant touch while also checking the box on yet another hot style for summer-neutrals. This lightweight throw is an easy piece that can work in your bedroom or living room all season long.

In Your Dining Room

When's the last time you made an update to your dining room? If you can't remember, it's been too long. There are so many fun chandelier options right now, but this one is making a strong case for a fringed style. As you can see, it makes a chic statement without totally dominating the space.

In Your Living Room

According to Pinterest, searches for fringe pillows have soared 336% this year! Add a dash of texture to your sofa with a variety of fringe pillows, in colors that will brighten your mood.

A Stylish and Sophisticated Kid's Room You'll Want to Live In

At Laurel & Wolf, we believe you're never too young to get inspired by great design! Creating a functional space for your little one is important but there is also plenty of room during the design process to encourage exploration and create moments that will delight your child's imagination. The perfect example of this is Valeria Girimonte and Alexis Bernar's new space for their daughter, Camille. With the help of one of our designers, Estie Kessler, they wanted to create a romantic, playful and serene room that wasn't too babyish or feminine.

"When I found the wallpaper, I really fell in love with it and wanted to build the room around it," Valeria said. "I was traveling back and forth to Asia at the time and the highlight of my 16-hour flight was to see what Estie was coming up with." Estie said the wallpaper was the perfect way to add a bold accent while still keeping the small space bright.

Estie completed Camille's room with a patterned rug from Lulu & Georgia, a teepee from AllModern, comfy sheepskin from Pottery Barn and a beaded chandelier from RH Baby & Child. "Updating a light fixture or adding a fresh coat of paint are great ways to refresh a space but if budget is a concern, just changing to lighter bedding can transform a room for spring and summer," said Estie.

Camille enjoys reading books, so Estie also included a bookshelf from AllModern. "I love to read and wanted my kids to grow up with that same passion," said Valeria. "Having a bookcase was important and filling it up with the books of amazing role women, including Amelia Earhart, Marie Curie, Coco Channel, Frida Kahlo, felt great. I wanted to be able to tell bedtime stories with strong female role models." From inspiring books to whimsical design, Camille's new room has it all. Mood-Lifting Spring Design Trends You'll Want to Try Now

After a long winter of epic snowstorms and wicked downpours, we're ready to shed the heavy blankets and throws that got us through the season and make some much-needed changes to our home decor. If you're feeling the same way, check out our easy guide to spring’s hottest trends. The key here: you don't have to spend a lot to freshen things up! If you love terrazzo, try it on a coaster set. Or, if a statement ceiling piques your interest, pick up a bold can of paint, invite a few friends over, and go from blah to bold in a few hours flat!

1. Fringe

Fringe-a fashion trend beloved by the Coachella crowd is now poised to take over your living room. From fringe pillows to lamps to throws, these swishy pieces, no doubt inspired by all the fringe adorned pieces that hit the runway during the 2018 shows in Paris, are an easy way to add a playful (and affordable) twist to your favorite accessories. From Anthropologie to Pottery Barn, we’ve spotted quite a few fringe pillows and rugs to snap up now.

2. Terrazzo

Terrazzo-a top trend from the 1970s is poised for a major comeback, according to Pinterest and Etsy. Terrazzo tiles, which include tiny chips of marble, glass, granite and quartz, have become an Instagram favorite, seen on bathroom walls, outdoor spaces and even coasters.

3. Ultra Violet

Pantone's color for 2018, Ultra Violet, is the ultimate statement hue. Bold, powerful and intense, this vibrant shade of purple can instantly add a pop of color to your sofa pillows or new living room rug. Or, go the moody, romantic route, and paint your walls in Ultra Violet and complete your space with rich leather couch and a dark wood table.

4. Statement Ceilings

This Instagram-driven design trend, often referred to as the "fifth wall" is definitely one to watch this season. Some are embracing a bright hue on their ceiling (mint green, anyone?) while others are making a statement with industrial light fixtures or bold patterns. With this look, the sky's the limit!
